Bigfoot Basecamp Weekend

Gate Pass or Ticket is Required for Bigfoot Basecamp Entry!
  • Some programs require ticket registration and purchase. See the event schedule below. The ticket includes a daily gate pass for the day of the event. Tickets are available online only.
  • If a ticket is not listed, gate passes are required. Daily and weekend passes will be available at the gate for purchase. The WEEKEND gate pass is $30 per car and includes access for Friday-Sunday ($45 value). The DAILY gate pass is $15 car for each day. Purchase gate passes at the time of entry. 

MERCHANDISE/SOUVENIRS: Bigfoot souvenirs, books, mugs, T-shirts, and various bigfoot items will be for sale in the Pleasant Hill Park Camp Store located in the Welcome Center. Other vendors are available to sell Bigfoot merchandise by Bigfoot & Me, wood carvings & jewelry, and Personal Caricature drawings by Artist Wayne Tillett.

FOOD: Food will be available for purchase from food trucks & Pleasant Hill Park Camp store located in the Welcome Center. Purchase snacks, drinks, Squatch soda, snacks, ice cream, and candy.

Thursday, October 5

5:30-9pm      VIP Dinner with Matt Moneymaker – Enjoy an exclusive evening with Matt Moneymaker at the Mohican Lodge & Conference Center. Matt Moneymaker is the founder and president of the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO) and host of the "Finding Bigfoot" series on Animal Planet. Matt will speak about his bigfoot encounter, sightings in Ohio, and the use of new advanced thermal imaging technology. Tickets include a dinner buffet and meet & greet with Matt with the opportunity for autographs and photos, plus thermal imagining video will be LIVE streamed from around Pleasant Hill Lake Park by drones. Tickets are required at the link below.

Friday, October 6

1-5pm         BFRO Investigator Panel – Join Bigfoot Field Researcher Organization Investigators to as they share their stories, encounters, and lessons learned. Each presenter will share for 45 minutes and then have 15 minutes for question and answer. Speakers include Dr. Kenny Brown, David Wickham, Mark Maisel, and Suzanne Ferencak. 4-6pm           Nature Center OPEN – Explore the Nature Center and ask our naturalist questions! Inside Welcome Center.

7-8pm           Guided Evening Hikes – Take a hike with naturalists and BFRO volunteers to learn about the park and use your senses to look for signs of wildlife. You never know what you will see or hear! Meet at Shelter #2 inside Pleasant Hill Lake Park. Hike to the group camp area for the campfire or take a round trip back to the shelter!

8-10pm         Campfire – Enjoy an evening campfire and snacks, plus hear more stories from Matt Moneymaker and other BFRO volunteers. Meet at the Group Camp area. Bring your own chairs.

Saturday, October 7

9-11am      Nature Center OPEN - Explore the Nature Center and ask our naturalist questions! Inside Welcome Center.

11am-12pm  Craft - Assorted Wooden cutouts – Select your cutout and customize it however you want with a Bigfoot or Fall theme. While supplies last. Sign up for a session time slot at the Welcome Center. FREE event

3-4pm   Craft Spray Paint Bigfoot Art- – Create your custom painting using bigfoot-themed stencils and watercolor spray paints. Meet at the Welcome Center deck. FREE event. While supplies last. Sign up at the Welcome Center.

11am-1pm   Special Appearance by Matt Moneymaker at Fin, Feather, and Fur Outfitters at the Ashland, Ohio store. 

12-1pm      Plaster Casting Footprints – Meet at the beach to learn the best methods for casting footprints! While plaster kit supplies last.

12-4pm         Bigfoot Pontoon Tour – Take a naturalist-guided tour of the lake on a pontoon boat &learn about bigfoot sightings in the area. Rides every hour from the marina dock area. Be 15 minutes before departure time. Tickets are required use the link below.

1-2pm           T-shirt Tie Dye – Custom dye a limited-edition Bigfoot T-shirt! T-shirts will be on sale for $10 for youth sizes and $15 for adult sizes. Cash only, sizes are first come-first served. Meet at the Welcome Center deck.

2-5pm         Author Presentations – Join a variety of authors as they share their stories. Each presenter will share for 45 minutes and then have 15 minutes for question and answer. Speakers include Dr. Russ Jones, Charles Kimbrough, and Bea Mills. Tickets are required at the link below.

3-4pm         Craft -Spray paint Bigfoot art – We provide bigfoot-themed stencils, artboard, and spray paint.While supplies last. Sign up for a session time slot at the Welcome Center. FREE event.

5-6pm           Leave No Trace – Be like Bigfoot and leave no trace! Meet at the Welcome Center deck for some fun activities to learn about low-impact adventures.

6-8pm           Matt Moneymaker Community Townhall Presentation – Listen to Matt and other local Bigfoot Ohio encounters. *CHECK OUT OUR VIP TICKETS! Each VIP ticket includes an up-close preferred seating area outdoors and a meet & greet for autographs & photos with Matt Moneymaker. VIP tickets include guaranteed seating inside the Welcome Center in case of bad weather. A VIP ticket is not required if the event takes place outdoors. The gate admission fee is $15/car daily.

8:30-10:30p  Movie at the Lake – Watch a movie on the BIG screen at Pleasant Hill Park. The nights are cool, so bring your blankets & chairs to stay warm. Refreshments are available for purchase.

Sunday, October 8

9-10pm        Nature Room OPEN – Explore the Nature Center and ask our naturalist questions! Inside Welcome Center

11am-1pm   Tracking Hike – Meet at Welcome Center at Pleasant Hill Lake Park for a wildlife tracking hike. Use all your senses and learn about Ohio’s wildlife.

2-3pm         Survival Skills – Learn a few essential survival skills including fire starting without matches and orienteering, plus discover some simple tools to carry with you on your adventures! Meet at the Welcome Center.
