Saturday, June 3        Live Animals & MWCD 90th Birthday Party 

9-10a     Naturalist On-Duty – Come see & help feed the LIVE animals in the Nature Center. Visit the fish mural, history exhibit, bird observation window & check out the NEW Osprey exhibit. Plus, reserve a spot for the Osprey Tours or Family Craft session.

10-11a   Outback Ray’s Live Animal Adventure - Back by popular demand! Outback Ray brings his live animals large and small from around the world. Up close encounters with snakes, lizards, and more at the Welcome Center.

12noon   MWCD 90th Birthday Party & Ice Cream Social – Enjoy free ice cream at the Welcome Center and learn about MWCD's History. Music, games, ice cream & birthday cake for all ages!

1p-3p     Family Crafts – Bring the whole family and enjoy making your own nature-themed craft. Complete materials and directions to make your custom craft. Limited supplies so sign up for a time slot at the Welcome Center desk.

3p         Osprey Wagon Tours – Enjoy a FREE naturalist-led wagon tour to learn the history of these unique birds and visit our nesting osprey & bald eagle nests at the park. Limited seating. Reserve your free spot at the Welcome Center desk.

 

Saturday, June 10           iHeart Radio Summer Beach Festival

Enjoy these activities from 11 am to 3 pm at the Swim Beach area!

  • iHeart Radio DJs Matt Applebee & Chris Kelly on the main stage 
  • Free Fishing for Kids – Stop by the fishing tent to sign up for your time session we provide poles & bait
  • Magic Show & Balloon Twisting with Nate the Great 1p-2p at the white tent area
  • Paddleboarding & Kayaking – Try paddleboarding presented by ODNR/ MWCD! Sign up for a FREE session. Weight limits apply. Must wear shoes and a life jacket at all times. Dress to get your feet and shoes wet. Waiver required for all participants.
  • Buckeye Imagination Museum – Kid’s activities in the big white tent
  • Prize Drawings – Sign up at the DJ stage
  • Displays – Free giveaways at US Army Corps red tent
  • LandzEdge Water Park – Additional fee and tickets required
  • Food Trailer – Hot food, cold drinks, snacks, & ice cream treats

 Thursday, June 15           Outdoor Adventure Mini Camp for Kids

This one-day camp adventure camp is for kids ages 11 to 16, to discover outdoor skills including fishing, kayaking, archery, and survival! The camp runs from 9 am to 4 pm. All equipment is provided. Space is limited and registration is required at http://mwcd.ticketleap.com

 

Saturday, June 17            Father’s Day Fishing & Arts in the Park!

9-10a            Naturalist On-Duty – Come see & help feed the LIVE animals in the Nature Center. Visit the fish mural, history exhibit, bird observation window & view a short video orientation during your visit. Plus, reserve a spot for a craft session.

10a- 3p         Ohio Plein Air Society Paint Out – Artists will be in and around park areas painting various trees, nature, water & boats at the marina. Artists can sell their work at 3 pm during a wet paint sale. Stop by to see various art-related activities going on throughout the day. 

11a                LIVE Bird of Prey: HAWKS – Learn about Ohio’s native hawks with the Ohio Bird Sanctuary at the Welcome Center.

12n-3p          Painting & Crafts – Explore your creative side with painting, water coloring, and crafts designs at the Welcome Center. Sign up for a one-hour session at the Welcome Center desk starting at 9 am. Limit 10 per session.

3p                  Wet Paint Sale – Ohio Plein Air Society artists will have their artwork on display and available for sale at the Welcome Center. You have a chance to get an original painting from local artists!

9a-3p          Free Fishing Days – Take advantage of ODNR’s Free Fishing Days which means no license is required on public waters on June 17 & 18! All size & bag limits apply during these two days. Free loaner poles are available at the Nature Center located in the Welcome Center.

 

Saturday, June 24                   Dinosaur Experience

9-11a          Naturalist On-Duty – Come see & help feed the LIVE animals in the Nature Center. Visit the fish mural, history exhibit, and bird observation window & view a short orientation during your visit, plus sign up for a Family Craft session at Welcome Center.

11a-12n      Nature Scavenger Hike- Enjoy a short hike with a naturalist on the Sycamore Trail looking for sights and sounds of nature. Start at Welcome Center.

1p-3p          Family Crafts – Bring the whole family and enjoy making your own nature-themed craft. Complete materials and directions to make your custom craft. Limited supplies so reserve your spot at the Welcome Center desk.

4-5p           Dinosaur Experience – Get up close and in person with dinosaurs! The Dino Crew will be at the beach, ready to bring prehistoric entertainment to life. Kids and adults are welcome. Have your phone or camera ready to take photos with a dinosaur!

 

Wednesday, June 28            Art & Adventure Mini Camp for Kids

This one-day camp is for kids ages 8 to 16, to complete a variety of art projects and get outside. Make a stained-glass pendant, plus try your hand at watercolors and spray paint. Plus, learn basic survival skills and how to kayak! The camp runs from 9 am to 4 pm. All equipment is provided. Space is limited and registration is required at http://mwcd.ticketleap.com
